OVERVIEW

Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security organization that operates across mainland BC, deploying over 1200 security personnel across the province. We are currently expanding our operations and are looking for security professionals dedicated to the safety and security of our communities.We recently acquired a large contract that requires security professionals to fill various positions for a large Marine Transport Authority based out of Vancouver, BC.  At Commissionaires, we offer a premium wage rate and a comprehensive benefits package.

We are currently seeking a full time Lead Mobile Patrol Officer (Marine) to work in Vancouver in a full-time (40 hours per week) position. which is run on various schedules (note: this is a 24/7 operations position with flexibility to work other shifts).

Daily tasks include:

  • Monitor the physical security of – client property, fences and gates;
  • Assist with traffic management of roadways and truck staging as required;
  • Assist with access control and enforcement of client’s pass conditions;
  • Patrol non-tenanted/vacant properties within the client’s jurisdiction, including staff parking lot;
  • Respond to intrusion alarms and disruptions -on client’s property;
  • Report incidents to the operations centre and subsequent response;
  • Provide emergency response as directed
  • Provide support by attending or escorting staff to off-site properties of concern when requested
  • Maintain detailed activity logs and providing client with regular and timely incident reports in a satisfactory manner, form and content
  • Participate in client-led training and exercises
  • Perform duties in accordance with Client’s Security Policies and Procedures as requested
  • Receive directional support from the Site Supervisor to ensure that all assigned tasks are completed;
  • Ensure that all patrols are competed on shift and attend to incidents on the transportation facility;
  • Work closely with transportation facility’s operations centre during incidents and truck staging events to ensure reports are competed as appropriate;
  • Act as the first-point-of contact with client’s operations centre when the supervisor is not available;
  • Must be fully cross-trained to support all services
  • Provide training to all contracted personnel;
  • Coordinate on shift roadside patrollers; and
  • Other assigned tasks (e.g. training) as required.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Valid permit to work in Canada (if not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident)
  • Ability to receive and maintain a Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC issued by Transport Canada)
  • You have a valid BC Security License
  • You have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • You are able to clear a Criminal Background Check and have a 5-year living history in Canada (required for Government of Canada clearances)
  • You have strong self-management, organization and entrepreneurial skills
  • You are physically and mentally fit to perform all duties required
  • You are fluent in English (written, verbal and reading)
  • Strong abilities in reporting writing skills
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability and willingness to work graveyard shifts
