This is a full-time, seasonal position of 8 hour shifts depending on requirements. This position will include weekends, days, evenings, nights with flexible start and finish times.

Seasonal timeframe: May 2016 to September 2016 with the potential to return to the position for the summer of 2017.

This position supports the security operations in the Southern Interior and is identified with the express purpose of providing support to operations during the summer months by; providing supervisory duties and responsibilities, including supporting functions at both full-time and temporary static sites as directed; conducting security patrols and inspections, including site scenario training, post orders development and review; maintaining appropriate records; promoting Commissionaires health, safety, and security initiatives; contributing to the team in a way that enhances productivity and ensures a positive work environment.

  • Liaise with clients with respect to operational requirements and expectations
  • Random patrols and inspections of sites (predominantly summer sites)
  • Develop and conduct site security training activities (scenario)
  • Prepare and amend post orders & operating procedures as required
  • Supply and deliver emergency supplies and equipment as required
  • Develop site maintenance records & reports
  • Acknowledge and respond to emergency site situations in a timely manner
  • Support Mobile Patrol Operations as required
  • Develop reports of observations and recommendations for enhanced site security, and provide appropriate follow-up activities
  • Provide 1st on-call duties and responsibilities as required, and
  • Providing honest, accurate and timely reports on incidents, both positive and negative to the Corps and to the client as applicable.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Proficient to expert computer skills and ability to learn in-house programs
  • 3-5 years supervision/management experience
  • Excellent detail orientation, organization, time management skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic operational environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to think quickly, have good judgement, and excellent problem solving skills, including operational flexibility
  • Patience and understanding
  • Strong technical skills and abilities: smart phone literate
  • Proficient to expert computer skills and ability to learn in-house programs
  • Leadership qualities and abilities, along with previous supervisory experience
  • Must hold Valid BC Security Licence
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Previous experience with Commissionaires would be an asset.
