Commissionaires BC provides full-time security services to several federal sites across BC. We are currently looking for a Front Desk Administrator/Security Officer (Bilingual) that will work at one of our Downtown Vancouver sites in a challenging, yet rewarding role.

This position offers 2 weeks of paid training and is transit accessible.

Some of your daily tasks include:

  • Ensuring the proper handling of legal documents, which includes stamping and returning copies to deliverer
  • Notifying recipient of the arrival of legal documents, cheques or packages and make arrangements for pick-up
  • Logging legal documents and cheques into the online web database
  • Opening courier packages and logging its contents into database
  • Ensuring all documents and cheques are properly and securely stored
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to track potentially misplaced/missing documents, cheques or packages.
  • Meeting and greeting members of the public in a professional manner
  • Handling difficult situations/visitors calmly and effectively

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Your ‘Must-Haves’

  • You are fluent in both French and English
  • You have a valid BC Security Licence or a willingness to complete the Basic Security Training course
  • You have a Public Works Clearance (required in order to work at federal sites) or a willingness to undergo the clearance process
  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role with exceptional customer service skills
  • You have effective problem solving skills and an ability to deal with difficult situations/visitors
  • You have excellent computer skills – particularly with Microsoft Office programs
  • You are be able to lift up to 35 lbs and comfortably walk up and down stairs
  • You have excellent attention to detail with an ability to work independently
