Commissionaires operates across mainland BC, deploying 1,200 security guards, bylaw enforcement officers, and detention guards through our 24/7 Operations Centre. Our team works together to ensure the successful day-to-day operations of our organization.

We are currently recruiting one PART-TIME Security (Customer Service) Dispatcher to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment out of our Vancouver Head Office. As the Security (Customer Service) Dispatcher, you will be responsible for providing scheduling and customer service to our Security Officers and to our valued clients across British Columbia. You will work closely with the Operations and Human Resources team to ensure scheduling requests are met.

PART-TIME (16-24 hours/week) positions are run on shift schedules that rotate each month. You must be available to work a variety of shifts every Saturday and Sunday including day shifts (08:00 – 16:00), afternoon shifts (16:00 – 00:00), and night shifts (00:00 – 08:00).

Some of your daily tasks include:

  • Responding to and monitoring staffing/service requests from internal and external clients
  • Selecting appropriate employees to fill staffing service requests
  • Providing a clear and accurate description of work assignments to employees
  • Shift scheduling using in-house software programs
  • Ensuring the safety of all staff working alone by effectively utilizing our Lone Work Program system
  • Maintaining a detailed log after the end of each shift
  • Producing ad hoc reports as required by various departments
  • Conducting follow-up reviews with clients to ensure client satisfaction

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Your ‘Must-Haves’

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service environment
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have proven time-management and organizational skills
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • You have the ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in the event of an emergency
  • You have a flexible schedule and are capable of working various shifts
  • You are computer savvy (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • You are capable of completing a security clearance and a criminal background check

Your ‘Nice-to-haves’

  • A valid BC Security licence
  • A valid Driver’s licence
  • Previous work experience in a call centre/operations centre or logistics environment
  • Previous experience working with workforce scheduling software
