As part of its veterans and community support program, Commissionaires recently awarded five bursaries, of either $2,000.00 or $1,000.00, to post-secondary students from BC. The presentations were made on September 26th, 2015 at the Metropolitan Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

“Overall about 38 students applied for the bursaries, and our selection committee had a tough time deciding on the winners for this year,” said Dan Popowich, CEO. To be eligible, an applicant needed to be enrolled in a post-secondary program and be either a veteran, an employee of Commissionaires BC (including its subsidiaries or partnered affiliates), or an immediate family member of a Commissionaires BC employee. Selection criteria included a 2-4 page essay explaining financial need, career aspirations, community service, and other factors.

The recipients, who represent a diverse range of backgrounds and educational programs, are as seen in the photo (left to right): Claudia Stancec, Jacob Foster, Jonathan Gregory & Erica Mah, pictured with Chairman Stuart Evans (third from left) and CEO Dan Popowich (far right). Garth Newlands was also a recipient but was unable to attend the presentation.

Thank you to all those who applied for the bursaries and congratulations to our recipients! To watch our interviews with our bursary recipients, please see the video below:
